Nuumad appoints Vinay Patel as Commercial & Partnerships Director to support next phase of growth

Nuumad, the digital consultation platform helping community pharmacies deliver clinical services more efficiently, has appointed Vinay Patel as Commercial & Partnerships Director.

A registered pharmacist, independent prescriber and pharmacologist, Vinay brings extensive experience across community pharmacy, commercial development, membership services and regulatory and operational support. He joins Nuumad from Avicenna, where he served as Head of Membership Services, supporting independent pharmacies to strengthen their businesses and expand their clinical service offering.

Vinay’s appointment also builds on Nuumad’s longstanding relationship with Avicenna Buying Group, one of the company’s earliest major partners. Avicenna played an important role in helping Nuumad gain traction across community pharmacy, working closely with the team to develop tailored packages around its platform for Avicenna members.

In his new role, Vinay will lead Nuumad’s commercial and partnership strategy, working closely with pharmacy groups, independents and industry partners to grow adoption of the platform and help more pharmacies realise the potential of private and NHS clinical services.

The appointment comes during a period of strong momentum for Nuumad. Its platform is now used by more than 1,000 UK pharmacies and has supported over 140,000 consultations.

Nuumad has also continued to evolve its offering, recently introducing a unified booking system that enables pharmacy teams to manage PGD services, independent prescribing, bespoke private clinics and Pharmacy First appointments through a single calendar. The system includes patient pre consultation risk assessments, helping pharmacies reduce administration, increase capacity and deliver a smoother experience for both clinicians and patients.

Judit Mora, Co-founder and CEO of Nuumad, said: “Vinay understands community pharmacy from every angle, as a clinician, an operator and a commercial leader. He shares our belief that the right technology should make it easier for pharmacy teams to deliver excellent care while building stronger, more sustainable businesses. Avicenna was one of the first major groups to recognise Nuumad’s potential and has played an important part in our growth. We greatly value that relationship, and Vinay will help us continue developing it while building new partnerships across the wider pharmacy sector.

We’re delighted he’s joined our growing team.”

Vinay Patel, Commercial & Partnerships Director at Nuumad, said: “Community pharmacy is entering an incredibly important period. Pharmacies have a huge opportunity to expand their clinical role and develop new, sustainable sources of revenue - but they need technology that makes delivering those services simpler, safer and more efficient.

“I’ve followed Nuumad’s progress closely and have been hugely impressed by both the platform and the people behind it. The team genuinely understands the realities facing pharmacy businesses and has built its technology around what clinicians need. I’m delighted to be joining at such an exciting stage and look forward to developing partnerships that create real value for pharmacies and their patients.”

Brij Valla, Managing Director of Avicenna, said: “Avicenna and Nuumad share a core mission: bringing real value to independent pharmacies. We’ve seen the power of their platform from the beginning, and Vinay’s move marks an exciting next chapter for our partnership. We look forward to working alongside the entire team to help pharmacies grow their clinical services in a professional manner for the benefit of both patients and pharmacies alike and at the same time maintaining the highest standards of governance and patient care.”

Nuumad’s platform combines structured digital consultation workflows with smart PGD guidance, business analytics, pre-consultation risk assessments and booking capabilities. Its technology is designed to reduce unnecessary administration and help pharmacy teams spend more time delivering patient care.

The business was recently ranked 16th in TechRound’s HealthTech 44, recognising some of the UK’s most exciting and innovative health technology companies.
